Dr Ian Grays is a geotechnical, mining, civil, and petroleum engineer. He is Managing Director of Sigra Pty Ltd a company which has been in the business of providing solutions to the coal mining and coal gas industries. Sigra operates as a service provider, manufacturer and consulting organisation.
Prior to founding Sigra Ian has worked in flood control, mine gas drainage and outburst control with Australian Coal Industry Research Laboratories, as geotechnical engineer with Douglas and Partners and has been Principal Engineer with The Safety in Mines Testing and Research Station of the Queensland Government. He was also Senior engineer with Douglas and Partners and was a geotechnical engineer with the Hong Kong Government.
He has a history with directional drilling through all aspects of his work. He has some 80 publication covering all facets of his work and has several patents over production, equipment and mining methods.
